Margot Robbie Wears Dries Van Noten Plumage Dress To The Birds Of Prey Premiere And Gets Mixed React

It seems this look is either on you will love or hate. On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, Margot Robbie attended the Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn London premiere and wore a black plumage dress by Dries Van Noten. America’s Harley Quinn has become a viral sensation and what Margot Robbie wears has set a precedent for many young girls who dressed like her Suicide Squad character for Halloween and beyond. The Dries Van Noten dress and gloves Margot Robbie wore to the premiere is causing mixed reactions. Some love the look and refer to it as whimsical and a reflection of her Harley Quinn character while others think the ensemble doesn’t do the Oscar-nominated actress justice.

Styled by Kate Young, the dress featured a sheer-paneled top with black feathers that created an asymmetrical plumage across the front.  The dress then features a floor-length skirt that had bunching at the waist while the sheer paneling allowed a bit of Margot’s stomach to peek through.

Margot wore fuschia-colored opera gloves with the outfit for a pop of color. Opera gloves are in fashion right now along with oversized bows. Ariana Grande just wore a pair of emerald-green opera gloves with her Givenchy Haute Couture dress to the 2020 Grammy Awards.

Though there are some who praised the look across social media platforms and said that the plumage and feathers were a nice ode to Birds of Prey, others said the look didn’t have a finished look and others even compared the skirt to a trash bag!

Kate Young shared several full-length photos of Margot wearing the dress including the added gold-colored cape that when paired with the fuschia opera gloves, definitely made a striking combination similar to the colors of birds found in the rainforest or jungles of South America.

Here is a photo of Margot Robbie with the cape.

What do you think about the choice to go with the Dries Van Noten dress? Margot isn’t the only one who opted for plumage on her dress. Her co-star Jurnee Smollett-Bell wore a black Guy Laroche dress that featured a plumage of black feathers at the hemline.

Are you a fan of the dress and gloves or do you agree with those who think Margot Robbie should have opted for a different look at the Birds of Prey premiere?
